Biography of Marisa Coughlan

Marisa Coughlan was born March 17th, 1974 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA. Attended the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, California and ranked #34 in Stuff magazine's "102 Sexiest Women in the World" (2002). 

Marisa Coughlan's most recent project is the Francis Ford Coppola-produced dramatic romance "Pumpkin ," in which she plays Christina Ricci's sorority sister. Coughlan also stars in Jersey Films' highway patrol comedy "Super Troopers ," which landed a coveted midnight premiere at the 2001 Sundance Film Festival and will be distributed by Fox Searchlight Pictures. 

Coughlan was a relative new comer when she starred in Kevin Williamson's directorial debut, "Teaching Mrs. Tingle ," in which she played Jo Lynn Jordan, a sexy witty and energetic high school senior who is much less concerned with class ranking than she is with having a good time. 


Coughland also recently starred in the feature "Gossip," for producer Joel Schumacher. She portrayed "Sheila" who sprinkles some comedic relief in the otherwise dramatic film about a college communications experiment gone awry. 

Further strengthening her relationship with writer/producer Kevin Williamson, Coughlan also led the cast of the television series "Wasteland ." She portrayed Dawnie, a charming, virginal, and somewhat neurotic twenty-something who converges with five of her former college friends several years after graduation. 

While still in high school, Coughlan garnered a featured role in director Tony Bill's romantic drama "Untamed Heart". Though her role never made it to the silver screen, it did increase her desire to pursue acting. With some feature experience, a few commercials and some local theater to her credit, Coughlan decided to head west to pursue a degree from University of Southern California. 

Born and raised in Minnesota, Marisa grew up in both Minneapolis and St. Paul, as her father lived in one place and her mother the other. She went to the University of Southern Californa where she majored in Theatre and French. Spending her junior year in Paris. Including French Marisa is fluent in four languages.
