actor Brad Pitt and has been famous since the character Rachel Green in the

Childhood and Family:
Jennifer Aniston was born on February 11, 1969 in Sherman Oaks, California.
Although Jennifer is American, she is of Greek roots and the original Greek
family name was shortened to Aniston for clarity and simplicity reasons.
Jennifer did spend a year in early childhood living in Greece with her family.
Jennifer's parents, John Aniston (actor, played Victor Kiriakis in TV's soap Days of Our Lives) and Nancy Dow (actor, model) were divorced in 1980 and Jennifer continued to be raised by her mother while living in New York. Jennifer attended the Rudolph Steiner School in New York, New York and The High School of the Performing Arts, also of New York. It was while being a member of the Rudolf Steiner School's drama club that Jennifer discovered her passion for acting.
The late bald actor Telly Savalas (1924-1994), famous for such
roles as Kojak in the TV series Kojak, Feto Gomez in Birdman of Alcatraz (1962)
and Archer J. Maggott in The Dirty Dozen (1967) was Jennifer's Godfather.
Catalyst to Fame
Career:
As with many young actors, Jennifer Aniston's career starts with Off-Broadway
productions and miscellaneous jobs such as waitress, telemarketing and
receptionist work. In 1990 Jennifer broke into television with roles in Camp
Cucamonga (1990), TV series Molloy, Ferris Bueller and The Edge. 1993 found
Jennifer cast as Tory Reding in the horror flop Leprechaun and in TV's Sunday
Funnies.
In 1994 the sensation hit TV comedy Friends was launched with Jennifer playing the role of Rachel Green. Running for 10 years, this role would be Jennifer's catalyst to fame, winning her awards and a fan following. Onscreen and off, the starring cast of Friends, Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer formed strong friendships and the final episode of the series pulled in over 50 million American viewers alone.
Jennifer's career stands on solid ground and along with her numerous television appearances one can see her in such films as She's the One (1996), Picture Perfect (1997), The Object of My Affection (1998), Rock Star (2001), The Good Girl (2002), Bruce Almighty (2003) and Along Came Polly (2004) to name a few.
