Chriqui
Beginning her career at age 9 by appearing in McDonald’s commercials, Emmanuelle
Chriqui moved to Vancouver and began auditioning for TV shows. While working as
a waitress, Chriqui scored several guest appearances in such Canadian mid 1990
series as “Are You Afraid of the Dark?,” “Forever Knight,” “Kung Fu,” “Once a
Thief” and “Psi Factor.” She subsequently landed roles in a string of TV movies
including Harrison Bergeron (1995, with Christopher Plummer and Sean Astin),
Unwed Father (1997), Principal Takes a Holiday (1998, with Kevin Nealon) and
Futuresport (1998, with Wesley Snipes and Vanessa Williams).
Hollywood knocked when filmmaker Adam Rifkin cast Chriqui to play Barbara in his
musical comedy about four 1970s teenagers trying to scam their way into a KISS
concert, in Detroit Rock City (1999, with Giuseppe Andrews, James DeBello,
Edward Furlong and Sam Huntington). After appearing in writer-director Peter
Filardi's true-story based horror thriller Ricky 6 (2000, starring Vincent
Kartheiser), Chriqui impressed audiences with her role as Claire Bonner, the
most popular girl in school, in Nickelodeon's family comedy directed by Chris
Koch, Snow Day (2000, with Carly Pope, Chevy Chase and Chris Elliott). She also
starred in the Hoku music video "Another Dumb Blonde" (from the Snow Day
soundtrack).
Also in 2000, Chriqui played Patty, a promiscuous artsy girl who turns out to
have a more significant part than expected, in writer-director Michael Davis'
youthful sex comedy 100 Girls (alongside Jonathan Tucker). In the next year, she
nabbed the enviable female lead role as Abbey, N'Sync star Lance Bass'
mysterious dream girl, in Eric Bross' romantic comedy On the Line (also
featuring Joey Fatone).
Two years later, Chriqui costarred as Carly, a girl who is stalked by cannibals,
in Rob Schmidt's horror Wrong Turn (with Eliza Dushku, Desmond Harrington and
Jeremy Sisto) and became Aaron Stanford's long-suffering wife in Curtiss
Clayton's drama Rick (starring Bill Pullman). In 2005, Chriqui costarred with
Aaron Paul and Marne Patterson in writer-director Andrew Waller's 27-minute
comedy Candy Paint and had a bit part in writer-director Rob McKittrick's comedy
Waiting... (starring Ryan Reynolds and Justin Long). She also portrayed Edward
Furlong's girlfriend in Lance Mungia's fourth installment of the popular
action-horror series, The Crow - Wicked Prayer and starred with Cameron Douglas
in Jeff Kanew's romantic comedy Adam and Eve.
Chriqui will star as Mafia princess Dolly Pacelli, opposite Usher Raymond, in
Ron Underwood's musical comedy In the Mix and costar as a nurse, with Robert
Capelli Jr., in Doug Bollinger's comedy Waltzing Anna. She was also cast in
writer-director Eric Amadio's upcoming edgy relationship comedy After Sex,
alongside Marc Blucas and Mariah Bruna. On the small screen, Chriqui had
reoccurring roles in the series "The O.C." in early 2005 and recently played the
