Charvet
French-born actor/singer David Charvet is probably best-known by TV audiences
for playing Matt Brody on the international hit series “Baywatch” (1992-1995)
and as Craig Field in the popular Fox series “Melrose Place” (1996-1998). As a
musician, Charvet has produced such successful albums as David Charvet (1997),
Leap of Faith (2002) and Se laisser quelque (2004).
Privately speaking, the former model was romantically involved with co-star
Pamela Anderson prior and during the second season of “Baywatch.” He is now
engaged to the host of the CBS reality series “Rock Star: Supernova,”
model-actress Brooke Burke. Brooke previously married plastic surgeon Garth
Fisher, but they divorced in 2005. Charvet and Brooke, who began dating last
fall, are reportedly expecting their first baby.

Childhood and Family:
In Lyon, France, David Franck Guez Charvet was born on May 15, 1972. His
Tunisian-born Jewish father, Paul Guez, is the Guess jeans founder, and her
French mother, Christiane Charvet, is the owner of Beverly Hills boutique. David
has five sisters and one brother.
A native of France, David spent his early years at the country and moved with
his family to New York City at age nine. The family finally settled in Los
Angeles a year later. David attended Simon Fraser University, Burnaby, British
Columbia, Canada. He also studied acting with Roy London and Larry Moss. In his
leisure time, David enjoys music, sports and race car driving. He also likes
participating in charities.
So We Meet Again
Career:
David Charvet got his start working as a model for Elite at the age of 18. He
appeared in a number of campaigns, most notably Coca-Cola and Levi’s. Two years
later, he branched out to acting and made his favorable debut as lifeguard Matt
Brody in the world’s most watched series of its time, “Baywatch.” He stayed with
a role that made him recognized internationally until 1995 to study acting and
pursue additional career opportunities.
After “Baywatch,” Charvet costarred as a young husband and contractor who has an
affair with a psychopathic (Susan Lucci) in the drama/thriller made-for-TV film
Seduced and Betrayed (1995) and had a lead as a zealous horse breeder in the ABC
romance film Derby, that same year. The next year, he joined Patricia Kalember
and Christopher Atkins in television film Angel Flight Down, in which he
portrayed a member of emergency medical team dealing with survival following the
team’s plane crashes.
Charvet’s career, however, did not gain another boost until 1996, when he joined
the cast of the hit Fox primetime soap “Melrose Place,” playing the role of
Craig Field. Charvet left the show in 1998 and in 1999, he starred with Tia
Carrere in the independent film Meet Prince Charming (1999). The romance is
directed by Brett Parker and written by Nina Colman.
In addition to acting, Charvet is a recording artist and has signed a five-album
deal with Universal Music Group France. His debut album, David Charvet, was
released in 1997, and his sophomore, Leap of Faith, hit the music shelves in
2002. Following the well-received albums, Charvet launched his third pop rock
album titled Se laisser quelque chose in France in 2004. To date, his albums
have sold over 2.5 millions thanks to such chart-topping singles as “Leap of
Faith,” “Should I Leave” and “The Tears in My Eyes.” Charvet has toured
extensively throughout Europe and Asia to promote his albums.
Charvet is set to star in the forthcoming feature film Reality Show, which
schedule to begin production in France this December. Also, he is now working on
his next album, So We Meet Again (reportedly released in September).
