Arizona-born, California-raised actress Danielle Fishel became famous and
received appreciation for her well-known portrayal of Cory Matthews' girl friend
Topanga Lawrence in the ABC sitcom "Boy Meets World" (1993-2000). Due to her
outstanding performance, she netted a Young Star Award in 1998. Male audiences
remember Fishel best for her sizzling performance of Marla in the comedy
National Lampoon Presents School Daze (2003), a character she will reprise for
the 2006 sequel Dorm Daze 2.
Aside acting, Fishel is known among her fans as a host in several shows like the
inline skating video "Grinders In Line" (opposite Boy Meets World co-star Rider
Strong), MTV's "Say What? Karaoke" and a sport radio show called "Sport Corner."
Off screen, the blonde-haired, blue-green-eyed beauty was once named one of Teen
People Magazine 21's "the hottest stars under 21." Fishel, who has two dogs
named Tyson and Cassidy, is an active supporter for several charity
organizations which help critically, chronically and terminally ill children. In
1994, she contributed in the Sail With the Stars Cruise Cruise which raised
thousands of dollars for Juvenile Diabetes. As for her romantic life, Fishel
dated 'N Sync singer and aspiring spaceman Lance Bass (born on May 4, 1979)
before reportedly became engaged with actor Devon Sawa in 2000.

Childhood and Family:
On May 5, 1981, Danielle Christine Fishel was born in Mesa, Arizona, USA. Her
father is Rick, a medical equipment sales executive, and her mother, Jennifer,
manages Danielle's career. She has one younger brother, Christopher Fishel (born
in 1985). When she was only three weeks old, the family relocated to Yorba
Linda, California, and has lived there ever since.
Danielle realized she wanted to become an actress early on. She began acting in
community plays and appeared in two theater productions, "The Wizard of Oz" and
"Peter Pan" when she was 10. The same year, the young girl auditioned for a
Barbie doll commercial and ended up being the Mattel girl for a year. Several
commercials and voice-overs soon followed after Danielle signed with an agent.
She immediately added television roles to her acting resume.
When not working, the Alternative music fan, Danielle, loves practicing such
sports as snowboard, ski, rollerblade and football. She also enjoys reading,
chatting on the internet, talking on the phone and hanging out with friends.
Besides, the owner of 130 pairs of shoes, Danielle, always provides her time to
shop for shoes.
Dorm Daze
Career:
10-year-old Danielle Fishel was discovered in a community theater, performing in
two productions, "The Wizard of Oz" and "Peter Pan," before moving on to
commercials and voice-overs. Shortly after, TV audiences could capture this
girl's profitable smile and cute face on a two-episode of the hit show "Full
House," guest starring as Jennifer, and one in "Harry and the Hendersons,"
playing Jessica.
At age 12, Fishel landed her first serious part as Topanga in the new ABC series
"Boy Meets World" (1993). The sparkling and attractive young actress was so
imposing that the creators made her recurring role a regular one a year later.
Delivering brilliant turn as the girlfriend of Ben Savage's character Cory
Matthews, Fishel gained much attention and recognition. As a result, she took
home a 1998 Young Star for Best Performance by a Young Actress in a Comedy TV
Series.
With the new found popularity, Fishel she became one of the most prosperous
properties in the show biz industry. Her face soon graced on the cover of
several magazines, including one the Seventeen Magazine. Since then, she has had
her own website, calander, poster and magazine column (Fishel wrote a column in
16 Magazine called "Danielle's Dairy," which covers celebrity interviews, a
behind the scenes look at kids in show biz, answers to frequently asked
questions by fans and much more). With Boy Meets World co-star Rider Strong,
Fishel hosted Grinders In Line, an instructional video with lots of electrifying
in-line skating and skateboarding performed by professional skaters Team
Rollerblade.
After Boy Meets World ended in 2000, Fishel made a jump start to the big screen
movie with the unsuccessful crime-thriller Jack of All Trades (2000), starring
Hunter Tylo and Tony DeCamillis. She returned to the small screen with the small
role of Sarah Miller in the made-for-TV Rocket's Red Glare (2000). The family
film starred Robert Wagner and Marilu Henner, and directed by Chris Bremble.
Coming back acting after a three-year hiatus, Fishel proved she was still on
track by showcasing her sexiness and wild side as Marla in the comedy film
National Lampoon Presents Dorm Daze (2003), starring Tatyana Ali, Boti Bliss and
Gable Carr. Also in 2003, she received offers to host "Say What? Karaoke" on
MTV, and had a guest spot on an episode of "Yes, Dear."
In 2004, Fishel teamed up with directors David Hillenbrand and Scott Hillenbrand
to star in their sci-fi/ fantasy film Game Box 1.0 (2004). The film saw the
actress was cast as Kate/Princess, along side Nate Richert as Charlie and
Patrick Kilpatrick as Ronald Hobbes/Ao Shun. On September that same year, she
co-hosted "Sport Corner," a sports oriented radio show heard daily on the Cable
Radio Network or at www.sportsgamingradio.com. Fishel recently finished her
voice-over gig for the 2005 animated movie The Chosen One, where she landed her
voice for character Donna Goldstein. She is set to reprise the coveted role of
Marla for the 2006 sequel Dorm Daze 2.
