Best known for her role as Michael Douglas's wife in the 1987 summer hit Fatal Attraction. Ms. Archer was born August 25, 1947 in Los Angeles, California by Actor John Archer and actress Marjorie Lord, best known for her role opposite Danny Thomas in the popular TV show "Make Room for Daddy."
Ms. Archer went to Claremont College where she majored in theater arts and in 1970 she starred in her first role opposite John Voight in "The All-American Boy. In 1972, Ms. Archer co-starred in "Cancel My Reservation with Bob Hope. She would later be seen in some made-for-TV movies like "The Blue Knight" in 1973 and "The Mark of Zorro in 1974. In 1976, Ms. Archer would play Sam Elliott's old flame in "Lifeguard" and would later play as Chuck Norris's first leading lady in "Good Guys Wear Black in 1977. She would later audition for the role as Lois Lane in the box-office hit Superman but would eventually lose the part to Margot Kidder.
Unfortunately, her roles in "Paradise Alley, "Hero at Large, Raise The Titanic and Green Ice didn't do to well to help advance her career. But in 1981, things would change for the better when she starred in the successful off-Broadway play, "A Coupla White Chicks Sitting Around Talking."
In 1982, with the help of her husband, Terry Jastrow, Anne wrote, produced and starred in the pleasant if unspectacular modern romance "Waltz Across Texas". In 1986, she would star in her first mother part alongside Brian Dennehy in the film, "The Check Is In The Mail."
In 1987, Ms. Archer won critical acclaim and an Oscar nomination for her role as Michael Douglas's wife in the blockbuster summer hit "Fatal Attraction. Because of her stellar performance in the film she would eventually receive some good parts in such films as Love at Large and Narrow Margin opposite Gene Hackman, both in 1990 and Eminent Domain in 1991.
In 1992, Ms. Archer co-starred with Harrison's Ford's as his wife in the box-office hit "Patriot Games" which would also star Thora Birch, Samuel L. Jackson, Sean Bean, Richard Harris, and James Earl Jones. She would later reprise her role in the 1994 film, "Clear and Present Danger".
She would later bee seen in the 1993 film, "Body of Evidence" also staring Madonna, Joe Mantegna, Julianne Moore and William Dafoe.
In 1995, Ms. Archer was chosen by Empire magazine as one of the 100 Sexiest Stars in film history (#62). Her most proud performance would be in the 1996 film Mojave Moon.
In 2000, Ms Archer co-starred in "Rules of Engagement" with Samuel L. Jackson and Tommy Lee Jones, "The Art of War" with Wesley Snipes, Maury Chakin, Michael Sutherland and Michael Biehn and the film "Dark Summer".
Her next film will be the made for TV movie "Night of the Wolf" with the late Robert Urich (this would eventually be his last film), C. Thomas Howell and Sally Kirkland.
